The Honorable Edmund BartlettOJ, CD, MP, OM (Society of Numbers, Spain, 2010), LLD (Honoris Causa), Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism and longest serving Authorities Minister, has been nominated for the celebrated PYNE Tourism ICON Award 2026. The award will likely be introduced at The Pyne Awards Africa in Maputo, Mozambique.
The nomination acknowledges Mr Bartlett’s lifelong contribution to world tourism, constructing resilience and African and Caribbean engagement.
In 2026, Mr. Bartlett was additionally appointed to the MIPAD 100 – Most influential individuals of African descent (worldwide), acknowledged throughout UNGA week in New York.
His worldwide awards embrace the Gusi Peace Prize from the Philippines, the PATWA Worldwide Journey Award for Excellence in Governance introduced at ITB Berlin, and the Royal Order of Civil Benefit (OM) awarded by His Majesty King Juan Carlos of Spain in 2010.
